Description
Founded in 1874, St. Edward
School has been providing a value-based education for the
families of Stafford Springs and the surrounding towns for more
than one hundred twenty years. The faculty and staff work closely
with the parents and the entire parish family to provide our
students with the necessary spiritual and academic preparation
to develop a love of the triune God and all His children.
Our emphasis is on a basic
curriculum designed to provide our students with a solid
foundation in the academic areas. Teachers are sensitive to the
individual needs of students, providing small group and
individual help as needed.
Religion is interwoven into
the structure of each day. The day begins and ends with
school-wide prayer. Students, with their teachers' guidance,
plan and carry out First Friday liturgies and prayer services
for special occasions. Opportunities are provided for students
to provide service to others: their fellow students, members of
the local community, and those in need else where in the United
States and around the globe.

Saint
Edward School Mission Statement Saint Edward School provides a quality academic program centered on
Christian values. It is intended that faithful practice of such values
in the student's daily life will enable each child to become a responsible
and contributing global citizen.
This educational program, supported by the Conventual Franciscan
Friars and with the cooperation of the parishioners, is designed to guide
our students as they develop a personal relationship with their Savior.
In this effort, the faculty, administration, and staff must live as role
models as they endeavor "to teach as Jesus did".

Supporting St. Edward
School
Tuition, fund-raisers and church subsidies are necessary to financially
support St. Edward School. We also apply for grants to help institute
new programs or to update materials, but grants for Catholic Schools are
not easy to find.
There are several ways for people who believe in
Catholic education to help St. Edward School:
-
Donations to the Annual Appeal --
help bring cultural enrichment programs to the students
as well as support for existing programs. These
donations are tax deductible.
-
Endowments - would allow the
administration to use only the interest to help support
families who cannot afford tuition, but wish to send
their children to St. Edward School.
-
Bequests - remembering the school
in your will would help keep tuition from increasing and
would help in maintaining the school facilities.
-
Support a Student -- make a
donation towards a specific child's tuition or to any
student needing financial help. Cost: $214/month
-
Donations to the Teachers' Wish
