STAFFORD PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY - The next meeting will be on Monday, March 14 at the Stafford Public Library. Please contact Karen at 860-982-5896 if you have any questions or if you need a prayer shawl.
Prayer Shawls, or mantles, are used by both men and women to provide comfort and solace as they hug and wrap you in God’s love. The craftsperson uses prayer throughout the forming of this shawl and upon completion the Prayer of Blessing is offered. Some uses for the shawl include: medical procedures, bereavement, illness, marriage, births, baby or bridal showers, recovery, for peace, strength, hope, worry.
This ministry meets on the second Monday of each month from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. at the Stafford Public Library Board Room. We welcome individuals who would like to attend and knit, crochet, or quilt these much needed prayer shawls. (We'll even teach you to knit or crochet!) Join in a ministry that brings God's grace, peace, comfort, love, joy, and hope to those in need. The finished prayer shawls, or mantles, provide comfort and solace for both men and women as they hug and wrap the recipient.
Prayer shawls are available in a tote in the front entrance of the church under the table on the right side as you enter the Church. For information about this ministry, please contact Karen Goodwin at 860-684-3384.
Prayer of Blessing by Joy Bristow
May God’s grace be upon this shawl warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing.
May this mantle be a safe haven, a sacred place of security and well-being sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones.
May the one who receives this shawl be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace and wrapped in love.
Blessed Be!
